UFC 96

Here are my picks for UFC 96 this Saturday…

Main Card Bouts:
-Quinton Jackson vs. Keith Jardine

– I like Quint by KO. Probably late in the 1st. Jardine has shown his chin is shaky, and Quint is reeallly hungry.
-Gabriel Gonzaga  vs. Shane Carwin

– Interesting test for Gonzaga, who has shown that he does not handle pressure too well. Unless Carwin can keep him backing up, I look for Gonzaga to hurt him on the feet, and finish with strikes or a rear-naked on the ground.

-Matt Hammil vs. Mark Munoz

-Munoz is tough but I think Hammil runs over him. 3 round UD for the Hammer.

-Gray Maynard vs. Jim Miller

-Maynard by a boring UD.

Matt Brown vs. Pete Sell

-I love Pete Sell. Win or lose, he always brings it. Still, Brown is tough as nails. I predict a split decision for Brown in a potential FOTN.

Preliminary Bouts:

-Brandon Vera vs. Mike Patt – Vera by whatever he wants.
-Kendall Grove vs. Jason Day

-Poor Kendall…His last win was against Evan Tanner, who tragically died a few months later. Before that he was coming off back to back KOs.  Day is game, but Kendall is too much for him. Grove by 2nd round sub.
